The big decision of the government of Gujarat: 25% increase in this quota for students of Gujarat

Gujarat, the state government has made an important decision in which the management quota seats for admission to professional courses have been reduced to 50 percent, which was earlier only 25 percent.  This management quota covers all students, including NRIs.

If the educational institutions and universities want to increase the existing fee limit to five per cent within a three-year fee block, then the fee will be exempt from the FRC.

Up to 50 lakh fines have now been imposed following a complaint against private institutions and universities.  The state government has passed a majority of Gujarat Vocational Technical Academic Colleges or Institutions in the Legislative Assembly - Admission Regulation and Fee Determination Amendment Bill - 2019.

With this bill, the state's private educational institutions as well as private universities would not have to come to the FRC for fee determination if they wanted to increase the existing fee limit by five per cent in a three-year fee block.  State Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, detailing the bill, said that in addition to the existing legal provisions regarding the determination of admission fee for the complaint against private institutions - private universities and the existing penalties for violating the rules have been increased to 50 lakh.  He said that all the 100 per cent seats of the government and aided institution are provision for government seats, in which no changes have been made.  While the provision for the number of seats for management quota has been increased to 5%.

In this, provision has been made for the admission of students from other states and foreign students, including Gujarat, on the All India basis, with 15% NRI seats for the first time in self-government institutes / private universities.  The number of seats available against qualified students is high in the state.  There are approximately 73000 seats available in degree engineering.  Against this, an average of 40000 students pass the standard 12 science stream A-group examination in Gujarat every year so that about 5% of the seats are vacant in advance of the admission process.
