Google today remembers Satyendra Nath Bose, who discovered the God particle!

Google today remembered Indian physicist and mathematician Satyendranath Bose with the doodle. Today is special because on this day in year 1924 Satyendranath Bose sent his quantum formulation to Albert Einstein and Einstein quickly recognized it as a major discovery in quantum mechanics. Hence this day is recognized as Bose-Einstein Condensate. The doodle shows Bose arranging  an experiment. Together with Einstein, Bose improved a theory about the gaseous properties of electromagnetic radiation.

Satyendra Nath Bose was born on the January 1, 1894 in Kolkata. He is best recognized for his work on quantum mechanics in the early 1920s. Bose was a Fellow of the Royal Society and was awarded the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of the India in year 1954. He was even a consultant to the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and later became a Fellow of the Royal Society.

He was interested in several subjects not only science. It is said that he was even interested in physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, mineralogy, philosophy, arts, literature and music etc. Their father was an accountant. Before leaving for work, he would provide Bose a math question to solve. This directed to Bose’s interest in mathematics.

Bose started  his graduation in science at the age of 15 by enrolling in Presidency College, Kolkata. After which he got his Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Kolkata University. By the end of 1917, he had began lecturing in physics.

While Satyendra was teaching Planck’s radiation formula to postgraduate pupils , he questioned the theory of particles and began arranging his own experiments on them. As a result, he made his particle theory. Any particle that matches Bose’s information today is called a boson. His work led to several scientific inventions, containing the particle accelerator and the discovery of the God particle.
